Character Education at Chancellor Academy

Overview

At Chancellor Academy, we believe in fostering positive behavior and creating a school culture built on strong values. Our Panther PRIDE program promotes five core valuesโ€”Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, and Excellenceโ€”that help guide our students toward personal and academic success.

Students are rewarded with Panther Paw prints when they demonstrate these values, helping to reinforce the importance of positive behavior and contributing to a supportive and respectful school community.

Panther PRIDE Values

  • Perseverance

Criteria:
Students show determination, overcome challenges, and persist in their work.

Examples:
Completing challenging assignments, improving areas of difficulty, working hard despite setbacks.

  • Respect

Criteria:
Students treat others with kindness, listen actively, and appreciate diverse perspectives.

Examples:
Using polite language, listening to peers, and valuing others' opinions.

  • Integrity

Criteria:
Students demonstrate honesty, accountability, and ethical behavior.

Examples:
Admitting mistakes, completing work honestly, taking responsibility for actions.

  • Diversity

Criteria:
Students embrace and celebrate differences within the school community.

Examples:
Supporting different perspectives, respecting cultures, and promoting inclusivity.

  • Excellence

Criteria:
Students strive for high standards in both academic and personal conduct.

Examples:
Achieving academic goals, participating in school projects, and demonstrating leadership.

Earning Paw Prints

Students earn Paw Prints when staff members "catch them being good," showing Panther PRIDE values in their actions.

Who Can Nominate?

  • Teachers and staff
  • Students, through their counselors or principal
  • Parents can nominate their children too!

Recognition and Rewards

Weekly Recognition

Student achievements are highlighted during weekly assemblies and classroom recognition by Core Room teachers.

Core Group Rewards

Classrooms can set goals for collective Paw Prints and earn rewards for working together.

Marking Period Focus

Each marking period, a different PRIDE value is emphasized. Students who excel in the highlighted value will be entered into a raffle.

End-of-Year Honors

Special awards for students who consistently demonstrate Panther PRIDE values throughout the year.
