Hear From Families Who Found a Home at Chancellor
D.R. – Joyful Parent of a Chancellor Academy Alumnus
If you are contemplating enrolling your student at Chancellor Academy, you are probably like most... contemplating a myriad of different considerations which encompass logistics, social, behavioral, academic, and perhaps even spiritual. This is no small task, and I can speak from the perspective of a parent that was tasked similarly along my child’s journey. It would be very easy for me to construct a multi-page letter espousing the merits of Chancellor, and their accomplished staff of professionals, and I would still have much to say. In short... Chancellor is a family, from the administration staff to the counselors, to the Principal, and everyone in between, none more important than the other. The sense of community and inclusion truly allowed my child to concurrently pursue their path to emotional wellness and healing, while being simultaneously challenged academically, and socially. The amount of emotional support by way of therapy allowed my child to find their balance and ultimately soar to their potential. From sports to extracurricular activities, and a merit based rewards system that allowed for some unbelievable activities our child was the benefactor of a well rounded, thoughtfully laid out curriculum and support network. The key to my child’s path to success (now looking forward to becoming a licensed trade-person, as well as an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration) was undoubtedly the immersive and exemplary standard of care that was in place in the form of his counselor and advisor Tyler Andreula. I’m sure the same might be said about Tyler’s colleagues. Chancellor is a community, and you feel that your child truly belongs to a special family that shares a singular purpose that cannot be matched! I often ‘Thank God’ for the blessing, as I firmly believe that our child’s life-path was altered by our decision to seek enrollment at this wonderful school. Sometimes in life... the most challenging paths yield the most bountiful results, and blessings sometimes are masqueraded as massive obstacles. It is my sincere hope that this letter may assist you, even in a small way, should you presently be at a crossroad as we were as a family. May your journey be blessed, and your path shine brightly!

Chancellor Academy is a great school for kids to come to who need support from caring people. We have a whole farm in the back of the school, caring teachers, excellent counselors, and all of the staff are very kind and thoughtful. When I first came here, everyone was welcoming and was waiting with arms wide open. They will help you with anything you could possibly need to help you succeed. We have so many great opportunities like fishing trips, learning about drones, weight training, Odyssey of the Mind, and an awesome Building Trades program. These things make me excited to go to school every day. I know that staff are here to help me and that they care about me. Chancellor Academy has helped me grow a lot. It has helped me with anxiety and anger and has helped me to succeed.

From the very first moment we stepped foot in the school, every member of the staff welcomed us with warmth, compassion, and an unwavering commitment that ensured us our child would succeed. They are more than advisors, administrators, educators ... they cared, advocated, mentored, and drew the best out of my child. They made the high school experience so much more than just about getting an education ... they've truly been at the heart of what's allowed my child to grow confident and independent in ways we once only hoped were possible. We are endlessly grateful to Chancellor Academy for creating an environment where that growth is at the heart of everything they do. Itis more than a school ... it's a community, a safe haven, and a place where our child was not only accepted, but truly understood and valued. Chancellor Academy has been nothing short of exemplary and we cannot recommend it highly enough to any family seeking a nurturing, skilled, and deeply committed environment for their child.

To be honest, I can’t say enough good things about Chancellor Academy. My son started here his freshman year and at first I was scared about him not being in our regular district high school, but soon after he started that fear vanished as he was happy, comfortable and thriving academically. The entire staff has been wonderful from when we first met with the director, principal, the welcoming office staff, caring/helpful teachers, the nurse who not only cares for the children but also cares for the animals at the school that the kids help with and last but not least his awesome counselor Tyler. He has been by our son’s side since day 1 and has been so helpful with listening to my son when something is bothering him, supporting him through tough times, praising him for all his good and guiding him throughout his years at the school. There has always been a great line of communication between us all. I would highly recommend this school if your child has an IEP, has been struggling in their public school setting, needs a smaller class setting, needs more emotional or behavioral guidance. This school goes above and beyond to be the best of the best for all the children here no matter what the situation is bringing them to Chancellor. So, if you’ve been on the fence about a different school setting for your child, I hope this helps you to pick up the phone and make an appt to meet with them to discuss your child’s needs. I’m sure happy we did and our son loves his school! Thank you, Chancellor Academy!

I feel that my child’s time spent at Chancellor has been very beneficial. He went from a child who never wanted to attend school and would fight to get up and get on the bus to someone who was excited to go to school. I think Chancellor, for the right child, could be exactly what is needed. The teachers and staff have worked with us every step of the way. I would put my son in Chancellor 100 times over! The programs that are offered are beneficial to him and he finds them interesting. Having a child with unique challenges means needing a dynamic team who can meet those challenges head on. I appreciate Chancellor and everyone who made the transition quick and easy.

Chancellor Academy is my son’s (M) fourth out of district school placement. M has a very complex set of diagnoses. The most challenging, NVLD. The one from a Mom’s perspective that is overlooked but is THE most important to understand, in order for a connection to be made to his behaviors. M’s first day at ESY I received a phone call from his counselor, Tyler. M had been tasked to write an essay, something at 15, he had never been taught how to do. M threw a tantrum that any other teacher, staff, counselor or administration would have viewed as ‘behavior’ and there would have been consequences. Before Tyler had called me, he had already laid out a scaffolding plan that would set M up for success to complete the assignment!! My jaw dropped. It had only been 2 hours since the incident! Tyler had also been patient with listening to M’s explanation and with Tyler’s patient guidance, M was able to express the feeling (stress) that triggered the event. Tyler’s super power to peel back the layers of M’s behaviors, help M to identify the feeling and then dive into finding solutions to the unmet need has been a game changer for M. My only regret is not sending M to Chancellor 2 years sooner, when he was first accepted.
